Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft (Llewellyn's Practical Magick)

Amazon.com Review
This 1986 classic is not only an excellent introduction to the Wiccan religion and earth-based religions in general, it’s also a workbook that can take the serious student to the equivalent level of third-degree Gardnerian. Though Raymond Buckland was a student of the late great Gerald Gardner, this manual does not adhere to a specific branch or denomination of witchcraft, but rather seeks to teach the elements and philosophies common to all, whether Celtic, Saxon, Finnish, or what have you. Buckland is credited with bringing the “old religion” to the U.S., and covens and solitary witches practicing the craft in the U.S. today have him to thank for getting it out of the closet. While Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft is a must-have for any serious Wiccan practitioner, it is full of down-to-earth spiritual wisdom, which makes it a wonderful addition to the library of any broadminded seeker on the path toward the One. –P. Complete Book of Witchcraft
This is an easy to follow introduction to Witchcraft. It really isn’t meant as a stand-alone resource. When used with other sources, this book is very useful.

    School Book
This book offers all the necesary to practice the Wicca Tradition, like a school manual but with examples of Seax Wica a Buckland creation.

    Good Reference Book
This was the first book I picked up on my Wiccan journey. It was a pretty dry read. That being said, I found it to be a great reference/resource book.

    A Good Reference Book
I would have to say that beginners would definitely gain some important information here, and would be something they could certainly keep around for reference.

Okay for covens but ignore the “history.”
This old-timer has been on the study list of many covens and solitaries over the years. Unfortunately, it’s incredibly outdated.

There once was a big, blue book…
I think this book is great if you want a how-to book on creating things, or a book about how much Mr. Buckland adores himself.

    A classic but…
Not to much to my taste. None the less, it has a lot of basic information. I would rip out the chapter on demons before giving it to a new witch or impressionable one.
