answer: yes. The tools are just that, tools. They signal the mind to open and focus on the work you’re about to do. The tools aren’t necessary but they do help. Like an athlete visualizing themselves winning the race moments before stepping on the tracks, the tools and the act of forming the circle tells your mind its time to work with the energy.
if you have enough mental discipline, you don’t need any of those things because you already part of the energy. it’s generated by all living things.
You don’t need them to begin with. They are just used to help focus your intent. It is possible to practice without the aid of utensils, even from the beginning.
