Im a Christian but for all of my life ive felt a strong spiritual connection with all things wicca / Pagan and would love to try their Magic.
Im conscious of God and because of my religion I am worried that because of my deep rooted passion for magic I will be exiled from my faith.

I tried to stop thinking the way I do but I can only describe it as a force I cannot ignore. So far Ive only done things such as candle lighting/using red brick dust to protect my room, but Ive been offered to lead a circle casting soon and I dont know whether my religion will except this.

Any ideas?
Please stop saying that I cannot be a christian if I think Wicca is good.

I am at the moment a practising Christian so please dont assume otherwise. I am fully aware of Christian magic. I feel no compulsion to practice this though.

Im looking for advice on what to do. As for the ‘your only becoming Wiccan for the magic’ comment, thanks alot -_-

god knows your heart. if your heart is pure and you mean no harm, god will know that.

yes…magic and wicca means that you are not a christian. pursue what your heart tells you and as long as it is good and peaceful then i wouldnt worry about labels like christian or wicca…just do what you do and do it well

Magic isn’t real, neither is god.

Christianity is Pagan. Look at all the things in their festivals. All plagiarized from the Northern animistic cultures. Not one original christian thing there at all.

    Practicing Shaman… quantum physics rocks.

    Deuteronomy 18: 9-13

    Detestable Practices

….Let no one be found among you or sacrifices, practices divination, sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead….this is detestable to the Lord.

If you are a Christian why are you doing Wiccan “magic” when there is plenty of CHRISTIAN MAGIC? You think it’s okay to pretend to be someone else’s religion for a perceived benefit?

Using magic, light magic, casting spells and things like that ARE NOT the Wiccan religion.

Christianity has a long and storied tradition of magic. Try Christian mysticism, instead.

Saying you want to be Wiccan for the spells is like saying you want to be Jewish for bagels, hun.

If you believe in a singular god, Christ, sin, etc, please stay on your side of the fence and stick to CHRISTIAN MAGIC.

If your feeling a strong connection go with it. There are a rising number of Christian Wiccans and Christian Witches. Many neo-pagans draw from various traditions while seeking their personal spiritual truths and for a few Christianity is one of them. My personal feeling is go with your gut instinct, don’t fight your spirituality…embrace it for what it is.

Please ignore those who tell you that we are devil worshippers (many pagans don’t beleive in any devil anyway) or that Satan is out to trick you. Loving and honoring nature (the same nature that christianity teaches is a gift from god) is not evil in any way.

The Christian bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live”. [Lev 22:18] it also says, “do not practice sorcery”. [Lev 19:26]

Of course, we don’t burn witches at the stake anymore.

But God’s Word also says, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay” [Romans 12:19]

So go ahead and do as you see fit. The world says it is OK.

But remember that you will have to deal with God for an eternity based on what you do now.

I’d have to agree with Labgrrl.

Christianity and Wicca do not go together. As people, we can get along with each other despite spiritual differences – but the two religions in and of themselves do not fit together.

Make up your own Christo-wicca system… like many other’s do.

There is Christian magic, if you wish to continue to do magic in a Christian format. http://www.sacred-magick.com/Main.html?http://www.sacred-magick.com/pdf/Egyptian.html

Basically, Wicca (Paganism in general) is considered evil and the Devil’s work in the Christian religion.

There is no getting around that truth.

I know that some people mix the two but what they have done is create their own belief system. That is okay too, there is nothing wrong with that.

My advice to you is to ask yourself why you are still Christian. If your answer is that you are afraid of going to hell…then you might need to rethink why you are Christian. You shouldn’t be in any religion if the only reason you are is because of fear. People stay in abusive relationships out of fear. People kill people out of fear. I believe fully that the Divine (creator) is above that and that no matter what that being wants from us, they would not want us to be manipulated through fear into loving them and following their word.

Have you ever worked with the Angels? You can call on them and ask for guidance with this, ask them to send you a sign.

As a Christian, you have already sinned and are continuing to sin if you keep practicing magick.

I think that no matter what mistakes we have made or may make in the future as to who God is or what they want from us, I think that first and foremost, they want us to be true to ourselves and follow our hearts.

Follow your heart and find your true path. God made you just the way you are for a reason.

you can be either a wiccan or a christian. but u won’t go to hell if u become a witch and at the same time respect christianity.

I completely understand your dilemma, because I to have struggled and continue to struggle with the same issue. Although, many like to say that you cant be Wiccan and Christian, or that your only interested in Wicca for the magick, pay them no heed. Some people no matter what faith prefer to be negative and unhelpful. It is about you and following the spiritual path you are being called for. Below I have provided a link to a similar question of my own when I first started Wicca. There you will find many helpful answers and the Best Answer provides you with links to websites that are about Christian Wicca and very informative.

You must always remember that you cannot be exiled from you faith, because God gives you your faith and he will never turn from you. In fact he’s probably given you this desire for magick because he wants you to grow closer to him and magick is a good way for that. Mind you, I wouldn’t go to church and announce that you are practicing some form of Wicca because you are only putting yourself at risk. I would study and learn first, find a good path for you before you start telling people. You wouldn’t want to say “Yeah, I’m Trinitarian (Christian Wicca)” one week and then realize next week that you were wrong. If you ever need advice or support just send me a message and I’ll be glad to help however I can. Light and Blessings -Rain Dancer

Oh and some people might say that you worship the “Christian God”, but your still Wiccan– they are mislead. God is just God. The difference between God in Christianity and God in Wicca is the way he is viewed. Christians have a very male dominating view of him while Wiccans see him as protecting, providing, and loving– not hateful. Of course, I cannot say that I speak for all Wiccans.

There shall not be found among you anyone ….that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
    Deuteronomy 18:10-11

Those guilty of practicing witchcraft shall have no peace
    2 Kings 9:22; Isaiah 57:20-21,
and they shall not escape judgment (Malachi 3:5).

Their souls shall be rejected by God
    Leviticus 20:6
    2 Kings 17:17
    Isaiah 2:6

They have limited power, and risk losing salvation.

Many young men and women such as the young women above are being seduced by the “IN” trend of being a “wiccan” but they are not aware of the risk involved.

Please feel free to research. Thank you for your time: Take care and God Bless.
