put a papertowel over the wax (doubled) then turn your iron to low and press it against the towel. it will absorb the wax and will not ruin your wall.

If it were me I would try the old Iron trick. Same as removing it from Carpet. Iron at meduim high heat and use a towel (dry) or several layers of paper towels. The heat will draw the wax into the towel. Remove as much as you can first with a putty knife. Try a small area first
