chase the girl = seeking information
old man. book with your name on it = respect
dream friend = support
a boy = needs to be cared of
doing magic = helpless conscience
Looks like there are something in your life that you probably can’t obtain full information about. You want to be included in many aspect of life. That may mean in family and socially. Having magic projected in the dream often means that you are losing control whether the magic is performed by you. In other words, you want to obtain control and yet you probably have no chance or unable to do it in reality. Basically your dream vent out what you need in reality – respect, and recognition.

You have been able to overcome, get, obtain,etc. things in your life by merely asking for them(maybe spoiled/coddled) and you believe strongly in the occult, either by default or because you actually are high-energy. Magic is usually a trick, or an illusion. You are usually ‘in-control’ of the illusions you present(fake crying, lying to get your way).
There are three people/fields/factors in your life that you have found you arer unable to control with the ease(snap of your fingers) that you are accustomed to. Your mind is trying to figure out a potion or another trick to help you get these three things under your thumb.
You need to remember(as you already know) that there are some things you can’t change. There are some things that require more than magic.
2nd answer- three things are controlling you and you wish you could just make them go away.
3rd-you like three guys and your timing with all three is always out of sync.

Sounds like a life review/preview. Your life. Partly about the plan, and partly about the things that could be controled to some degree, but you didn’t understand it all. I hope you are keeping a dream journal. Eventually you would find your own interpretation of the symbols in your dreams.
